Jakarta Motorcycle Show Event

Upcoming Bikes 2010-2011 Super Sports HeavyBikes Two ’strange’ automatic scooter on Suzuki’s booth on Jakarta Motorcycle Show have really cached visitors’ attention. The two strange scooter, named SD-01 and SD-02, have unique and futuristic design. There’re only limited information about the ‘aliens’. Yamaguchi, Suzuki’s 2 wheels promotion manager, only mention that these bikes are transformation of the former one, Suzuki Spin. These bikes also have already brought to public on the Bangkok International Motor Show last April. Will this bikes sold to public market? I’m not sure,.. it’s just a concept bikes I think.

Jakarta Motorcycle Show Event  at Indonesia's automotive industry, particularly two-wheeler this year is experiencing booming sales, after last year was lackluster because of the global financial crisis struck. One of the drivers of the motor industry's biggest motor show in Indonesia will again be held on November. 2nd annual motorcycle exhibition, titled Jakarta Motorcycle Show (JMCS)

This is The 2010 GSX-R600/750 last received a ground-up redesign back in 2006, then was nicely updated for the 2008 edition. Given the typical Japanese four-year model cycles for sportbikes, we were anticipating a new Gixxer for 2010, but the tanking economy forced Suzuki to postpone its introduction until 2011.

Visually, the biggest change to the GSX-R is its nose, now boasting a narrower, vertically stacked headlight arrangement that mimics that of the GSX-R1000. Four angular intake slots ram air into the airbox and helps provide a distinguishing snout. This sketch indicates a tall windscreen – taller than most sportbikes – but a screen of that height might not make it to the production bike.

The X pattern of the side fairings draw from the previous bike but are less pronounced. Flush-mount rear turnsignals are placed within the tailsection, while the front signals will almost assuredly be placed in the mirrors like previous Gixxers.

Many components are exactly what we’d expect from a GSX-R, including radial-mount front brakes and lightweight thin-spoke wheels. We’ll also assume another edition of a slipper clutch, a newer iteration of S-DMS, the power-mode selector, and adjustable footpegs. And, like its 1000cc brother (and Kawasaki ZX-6R, we expect to see a Showa BPF fork. The 4-into-1 exhaust system follows the styling lead of the previous Gixxer but is unique to the 2011 model.

In terms of acceleration, whether you feed in the throttle gently or slam it open the SH150i accelerates the same. Initially power comes on softly, then right around 10 mph, you can feel it advance with a tad more authority, yet it always smooth and never feels intimidating. While it won’t win any drag races against a driver with a lead foot, you might surprise the
SUV commander next to you. In fact, unless they’re on their game, the little SH will usually getaway first. It isn’t until around 40 mph that your neighbor in the 4000 pound tank has gathered enough steam to pass.

On level road with this 180-pound pilot, the SH will accelerate to right around 65 mph in roughly 15 seconds without a hint of vibration. Add a steep downgrade and speed increases another 10 mph. In fact, is speed is high enough for it to be operated on the freeway. Even at maximum speed the rear view mirrors deliver a decent buzz-free picture of what’s happening behind you, plus the scooter tracks straight without a hint of instability. Uphill the SH manages to muster a minimum of 60 mph. And unlike other mid-sized scooters we’ve tested, it actually accelerates as you climb up. Since its introduction in 2004, the CRF250R has undergone a few changes and managed to remain at or near the top of the class when it came time for the annual TransWorld Motocross 250cc Four-Stroke Shootout. As a package, the bike was powerful, handled well, and had comfortable ergonomics that pleased even the most particular riders. But with the constant pressure to improve, and the age of fuel injection in the 250 class upon us, Honda is now the first of two manufacturers this year to introduce a bike equipped with EFI. With a laundry list of changes other than EFI, this CRF250R is one of the most anticipated bikes of 2010.

THE CHANGES
Looking nearly identical to the CRF450R and actually sharing numerous parts with its larger brother, the CRF250R boasts an all-new chassis, motor, and suspension. Beginning with the motor, Honda’s primary objective was to maintain strong, usable power even when incorporating the Electronic Fuel Injection, which on the 450cc four-strokes has been known to mellow out the power delivery—not something that is desirable in a 250F. While the motor may look similar to previous years, upon closer inspection you’ll actually find much more, as nothing carries over from the previous model—not even the engine cases. A new piston and lighter crank have made it possible for a higher compression ratio and a longer stroke. The position of the cylinder was also changed, tilted back five degrees to improve mass centralization. Up on top, the head features all-new Moto-GP inspired valve spring materials, longer valve springs, and new cam timing. All with the goal of making the CRF pull further and rev higher with stronger power and better durability.

First Look 2010 Honda VFR1200F

Recently Honda just launched its all-new 2010 VFR1200F sport touring bike and MotoUSA got a chance to check it out at Honda's U.S. headquarters in Torrance, California. with a blank sheet of paper and highlighted by a V-4 engine and optional dual-clutch automatic transmission, Big Red calls this machine a future look into for their two-wheeled brand. Can you say: V-4 powered CBR sportbike? Who knows, but it sure makes my glands salivate. For now, here’s a look at the details on the 2010 VFR.

According to Honda, the idea was to create “a futuristic sport motorcycle for the sheer joy of riding, custom tailored for experienced hands who ride hard, ride long, ride far and ride often.” With a “MotoGP derived” V-4 engine at the heart of this mega-mileage sportbike, it features “a unique cylinder layout with rear two cylinders located innermost on the crankshaft and front cylinders located outboard.” This is said to narrow the rider interface aboard the VFR1200F.
